Safety Manual

IOGAWV Safety Manual and Reporting Forms

This manual represents IOGAWV's best efforts at crafting a safety manual, but IOGAWV is not responsible for any inaccuracies or omissions in the manual. If you have any comments or corrections to the manual, please forward them to IOGAWV, Attention: Charlie Burd.

It is the responsibility of each employer to read and be familiar with the manual and coordinate the manual with other company policies before enacting it as company policy. The manual makes reference to specific plans, (for example the Emergency / Management Plan) training, and teams (for example the Level 1 Response Team). In order for the manual to be effective, each employer needs to provide the referenced plans and training to its employees and ensure that the teams described in the manual exist. Each employer should make clear to employees whether this manual supplements or supersedes any other safety policies the company has enacted. Additionally, each employer should ensure that nothing in the manual conflicts with any employment agreements the employer may have with their employees. For employers with at-will employees, it may be advisable to include instruction to the effect that notwithstanding anything in the manual, the employees remain at-will employees.
